Taylor Law in Wind Energy Data
نویسندگان
چکیده
The Taylor power law (or temporal fluctuation scaling), is a scaling relationship of the form σ ∼ 〈P 〉 where σ is the standard deviation and 〈P 〉 the mean value of a sample of a time series has been observed for power output data sampled at 5 min and 1 s and from five wind farms and a single wind turbine, located at different places. Furthermore, an analogy with the turbulence field is performed, consequently allowing the establishment of a scaling relationship between the turbulent production IP and the mean value 〈P 〉.

Local equilibrium hypothesis and Taylor’s dissipation law
To qualitatively investigate the validity of Kolmogorov local equilibrium hypothesis and the Taylor dissipation law, we conduct direct numerical simulations of the three-dimensional turbulent Kolmogorov flow. Since strong scale-by-scale (i.e. Richardson-type) energy cascade events occur quasi-periodically, the kinetic energy of the turbulence and its dissipation rate evolve quasi-periodically t...
متن کاملA SPATIAL APPROACH TO ENERGY ECONOMICS Juan
We develop a spatial model of energy exploitation where energy sources are differentiated by their geographic location and energy density. The spatial setting creates a scaling law that magnifies the importance of differences across energy sources. As a result, renewable sources twice as dense, provide eight times the supply; and all new non-renewable resource plays must first boom and then bus...
متن کاملUsing Conditional Kernel Density Estimation for Wind Power Density Forecasting
Of the various renewable energy resources, wind power is widely recognized as one of the most promising. The management of wind farms and electricity systems can benefit greatly from the availability of estimates of the probability distribution of wind power generation. However, most research has focused on point forecasting of wind power. In this paper, we develop an approach to producing dens...
متن کاملEvaluate the wind energy potential in Yazd
With population growth and progress of human society and human life needs to energy sources and also environmental pollution caused by fossil fuels, many countries are looking to use clean energy sources. Wind energy is one of them. In this paper was to evaluate the potential of wind energy in Yazd city. After review and analysis of meteorological data from 2011 to 2014 by software, the annual ...
متن کاملDevelopment of a mathematical model to design an offshore wind and wave hybrid energy system
Fossil Fuels are always considered as environmental pollutants. On the other hand, the political and economic situations highly affect the price of these fuels. Offshore wind and wave, as renewable energy sources, represent the better alternatives for electricity generation. Therefore, it is necessary that wind speeds effectively be estimated due to the absence of field measurements of the wind...
